​SpyMeSat informs you when satellites are overhead and could be taking your picture – not when you can see the satellite, but when the satellite can see you! SpyMeSat provides Earth imaging satellite overflight notifications for the user’s location of choice.

​SpyMeSat uses published satellite orbit data from NORAD and publicly available satellite information to compute and dynamically display satellite flyovers and imaging opportunities. Real-time data is provided during overflights, including satellite location and real-time, range-based imaging resolution. The Satellite Information page is reached from any pass details page or from the Settings satellite page.

Real-Time Imaging Satellite Awareness

​​Details of individual predicted passes are provided, along with details about the satellite, including manufacturer, operator, launch date, capabilities, and mission. Mobile users can configure notifications to filter by resolution, imaging phenomenology, or even individual satellite. Mobile push notification type and timing can also be adjusted for preference.

In SpyMeSat users set their position via location services or dropping a pin. The app has settings to hide or show specific satellites and to enable or disable notifications and alerts. ​Field users utilizing the SpyMeSat mobile app can still receive overflight notifications even work when not connected to a data network, since all imaging passes are computed on the mobile device itself.

Access Satellite Pass Details

On mobile, select a pass from the list on the main page and the Pass Details page comes up. The Pass Details page provides additional information about a specific upcoming imaging opportunity including start and end times to 1-second fidelity, as well as starting, ending, and best imaging resolution. When viewing the web application, select the pass info button for the row you wish to expand.
